Single Parent

Well me and the little ones took the hubby to the airport this morning. He left for North Carolina for 10 days. I know its not that long but the longest I have ever been away was like 30 hours! And I wasnt but a half hour drive away the whole time. So the kids did alright the first day. A little bummed we couldnt skype with dad tonight but we have a skype date in the morning. Lizzie cried for about a half our after we dropped him off. Thankfully I have mom and dad to help us out since I am starting my  new graveyard shift tomorrow night! Guess who got a promotion!!

Yup thats right. I got the overnight support manager position at work. Im pretty excited to get the experience of working on the overnight shift and really getting to work in all the departments in the store rather than just apparel. Its going to be a bit of a challenge getting adjusted to the graveyard shift butttt it is a 4 on 3 off schedule which is pretty awesome.....I dont start till the 23rd of this month but thats ok it will give me time to tie up the loose ends in my current departments before i leave....

Exhausted!

So I'm not sure how many of you have worked retail before but when the season change price changes drop its ridiculous!

So our work week starts on Saturdays and I work every Saturday. Well the massive amounts of price changes dropped on Monday (my day off) and so I came in on Tuesday with just under 5000 price changes in my two departments agghhh....then each day a couple hundred kept dropping....So anyhow there is a point to this story I promise.....So yesterday I went in to work at 8am and still had right about 2000 price changes left and I had to get them done before I went home. Well I got them done and I left at 2am....Yup thats right I had to work an 18hour shift.....Then I come home and by the time I get out to my car and make the commute home and lay down in bed its almost 3am and then my poor sweet baby boy is sick and he woke up with a 102.6 fever and puking......so I finally get to lay down and sleep about 4am just in time for wyatt to wake back up around 6am...thankfully my husband got up with him....I rolled out of bed at 930am and basically layed in the recliner with Wyatt all day long....He is still feeling pretty cruddy but he is in his own bed right now and well Im able to have some alone time....

Taxes

Well we filled taxes tonight! We are actually getting money back this year....which i guess makes sense since we are poor :)......not that we really get to spend that money on fun stuff.....paying the parents back because they are amazing and loaned us some money. Then we get to pay our property taxes...oh and I guess that we should replace the roof considering that we have tarps covering the wonderful leaks that showed up this winter. Well hmm there goes all the money....hopefully there are a few pennies left to set aside in the savings account. (what is that again) lol

Attempting a comeback????

Why Hello there blogger world.....As you might see its been a few years since the last post....I am going to attempt to do this whole blogging thing again and see how it goes no promises though!


So here is a small update since the last time I posted....not to much really happened until April of 2011. Well let me back up just a little bit. So just after Elizabeth was born I got the IUD put in then in the beginning of 2010 I started getting some serious back pain (i have a bad back anyhow so I didn't think anything of it). So after going to physical therapy for a year my husband started googling the IUD and told me I should go get it out and see if the back pain goes away. Well hey guess what the next day I felt perfect.... so then I put myself on birth control. I took that pill everyday at 7am. So fast forward.....April 2011 guess what Jessica surprise your pregnant!!! I was about 10 weeks along and had my sweet little Wyatt 2 weeks early. That was a very short pregnancy! Well in June of 2011 I lost my job and I mean really who is going to hire a 5 month pregnant lady????? so I stayed home learned how to can....watch for the blogs to come this summer on my canning experiences this year. I figured hey i can probably do this whole stay at home mom thing. I really enjoyed it alot. Then I decided to do an all natural child birth this time and I did pretty good. I only had a 10 minute freak out moment when i seriously almost kicked my OBGYN in the face! So on November 28th Wyatt James Leopard joined this world. Then in mid december i get a call to go back to work.....well its only part time and it would help out a little....so when Wyatt was just 4 weeks old I went back to work at Walmart part time. Then it turned to full time and then was promoted to Department Manager......thankfully that happened so fast as my husband lost his job in June of 2012......thankfully he gets unemployment or else we wouldnt have been able to survive.


So now I am working full time as a department manager at Walmart and my husband is still looking for work and staying home doing the whole stay at home dad thing and Zach is 7 Elizabeth is 4 and Wyatt is now 1.

Life is crazy and goes by way to fast! I love my family and look forward to sharing our craziness with you too and hope to give you some laughs.

Easter Eggs

Last night we decided we were going to color Easter eggs. This year was Elizabeth's first year coloring eggs.....she loved it and they both just had a blast! Lizzie tried to eat the coloring and turned her face colors and is now stained......She has green feet and multiple colors all over body! I love being able to do this tradition with my kids every year.

What are your family traditions when it comes to Easter?

Husbands...ugh

So Daniel goes back to work today and i thought oh i will be a nice wife and make his favorite for dinner tonight! Chicken! Well apparently he was thinking the same thing because he texted me and said hey i hope you don't have dinner plans already cause im going to BBQ some chicken.

OK no big deal i will just make everything else that goes with dinner and let him cook the chicken. (I don't BBQ at all) So its about 645 and he calls me hey so whats for dinner? I thought to myself seriously? and so I said you just texted me 2 hours ago saying you were going to BBQ. Oh well then I remembered we were out of propane. And i said ok well i wish you would have told me so that i could have started dinner! So I start dinner at 645 in the evening we finally sit down at the dinner table at 815 and i give the kids a bath as they were falling asleep in the tub and put them down to bed! I still need to get the potatoes out of my hair and clean my kitchen and its already 940 ugh
